AutoForm Engineering (Troy, MI) introduced AutoForm Assembly R26 for stamping and body-in-white (BiW) assembly process simulation. The AutoForm Assembly R26 software is designed for simulating MIG/MAG arc welding thermal distortion, integrating scanned subassembly data, validating GD&T CAD requirements and resolving dimensional deviations prior to production. It can be used in automotive BiW assembly design, joining process engineering, subassembly adaptation and quality control validation environments.
Features:
- New arc welding model that automatically calculates effective heat input and thermal loads from key process parameters to predict heat-affected zones and thermal distortion
- Allows measured subassembly prototype scan data to be imported directly into simulation workflow for improved dimensional accuracy and realistic process predictions
- Automatically interprets CAD GD&T definitions throughout setup and evaluation, maintaining original design intent and linking engineering requirements to assembly validation
- Adds new options for mirroring and translating asm files to accelerate simulation setup and streamline engineering efficiency
- Enables existing subassemblies to be imported, repositioned and automatically updated within new vehicle design project environments
