ID’s 2026 “Watch List” continues with Denali Industrial Supply, a provider of fasteners, tools, safety gear and more from locations in Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska.

Although all distributors play a critical role for their customers, Denali, because of its market, is in a particularly unique position: it must secure stocked items from the lower 48 states in sufficient quantities to meet the needs of producers and contractors in Alaska — where a lack of parts can quickly turn into prolonged shutdowns.

The company serves maintenance and construction projects across its home state, as well as its mining and oil & gas sectors. And because roads are less likely to connect to job sites in Alaska than in other places, Denali says it offers air and barge services to reach even remote locations.

Company commentary: Denali Industrial Supply supports the mining, construction, maintenance and oil and gas industries in Alaska. We support contractors from all fields — general, mechanical, electrical, sprinkler, civil and more in the Alaska market. We call on remote mine sites and facilitate shipments to remote areas of Alaska through air and barge service. We keep a large inventory on hand to support our customers’ needs.

20251215 095244 eu Ez25 Of GuDenali Industrial SupplyIn Alaska, not having material on hand can cause a shutdown for a customer since all our stock comes out of the lower 48. Standard shipments for purchase orders that are in stock in the lower 48 can still take two to three weeks to arrive in Alaska. Balancing freight and inventory is a constant dance we do to support our customer base. We offer a walk-up counter service, will-call service and free delivery to industrial and commercial customers in the greater Fairbanks and Anchorage areas. We pride ourselves on having a knowledgeable sales staff and out-servicing our competition in all areas.

Recent awards: 2023 Associated General Contractors-Alaska Associate Member of the Year; 2025 Sphere1 Gateway for Growth Program from Sphere1 and Diablo.

Do you offer an e-commerce platform? When was it established? We offer e-commerce; our website went online in 2017.

Recent company news: We recently added an addition to our warehouse in Fairbanks. The expansion will allow us to stock more lines and have more warm storage space for products that cannot be stored outside.
