Industrial gas distributor Airgas said Thursday that it would once again sponsor the annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference.
The company will supply advanced gas cylinders and specialized equipment for the “hands-on career competitions” at next week’s event, which will include contests in welding, welding fabrication, HVAC and automotive repair. In particular, Airgas officials said that competitors will use Arcal shielding gases with the company’s signature Exeltop cylinder valve technology.
“Returning to the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference for our fourth consecutive year represents our commitment to the future skilled trades workforce,” Bill Pharmer, senior director of Airgas Advanced Fabrication Technologies, said in a statement.
SkillsUSA says it serves nearly 440,000 career and technical education students and teachers in middle schools, high schools and college and postsecondary programs.
The conference will take place in Atlanta from Tuesday through Thursday.
