Nissha Medical Technologies (NMT), the medical devices business unit for Japan’s Nissha Co., has officially broken ground on a new 50,000‑square‑foot facility in New Richmond, Wisconsin, marking an expansion of the company’s micro molding operations and capacity to support demand for miniaturized, precision‑molded components.

The new building is designed to support NMT’s growth in the precision molding market and will house a combination of relocated equipment from existing facilities alongside new machining, automation and injection molding systems. Once complete, the expansion will more than double NMT’s capacity across tool making, automation, development, and injection molding.

The New Richmond expansion strengthens NMT’s ability to support customers with increased production scale and the continued development of new technologies. Located approximately 45 minutes east of the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area, a leading hub for medical device innovation, the site enables close collaboration with a dense network of MedTech OEMs. The purpose‑built design supports tighter integration of processes while maintaining NMT’s vertically integrated model, including the close alignment between its in‑house tool shop and molding operations.

NMT plans to hire at least 25 additional employees over the next several years and will invest millions of dollars in capital to support long‑term growth at the site.
