MCM Engineering II announced plans to expand in Enoch City, Utah. The switchgear manufacturer expects the $168 million investment to create 250 jobs over the next 10 years.
The development follows a post-performance tax reduction awarded by the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO), as part of the state’s Rural Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (REDTIF) program. Tax credit projections show nearly $12 million in new state tax revenue, with a REDTIF tax credit worth up to 30%.
MCM Engineering II manufactures custom medium and low-voltage switchgear for industries such as utilities, mining and renewable energy. The company provides design, engineering, fabrication and construction services for custom switchgear solutions, including power distribution centers and sheltered aisle walk-ins.
In 2020, MCM Engineering II became part of LS Electric America, a subsidiary of Korea-based LS Electric Co. Ltd.
"With [GOEO's] support, MCM Engineering is expanding its manufacturing base, boosting production capacity and growing its workforce," MCM Engineering II President and LS Electric America CEO Charlie Chunghee Lee said. "As Iron County grows, Enoch City will emerge as the hub of our U.S. manufacturing, where innovation and excellence will converge to shape the future of America’s energy industry."
