LORD Corporation (Cary, NC) has produced a new aqueous primer and covercoat adhesive for bonding during vulcanization to metal, the Chemlok 8212, which is designed for use with the Chemlok 8008 Primer. The primer increases environmental resistance for the bonded assembly and adhesion to the substrate—LORD’s bonding solution works on cold rolled steel, phosphatized steel, and aluminum. The adhesive and primer are ready to use directly out of the container without dilution, and is formulated with low VOCs and HAPs for reduced emissions.
