Ingersoll Rand (Annandale, NJ) has designed the new 2015MAX and 2025MAX Hammerhead low-profile Impactools, which are designed for optimal performance even in extremely confined spaces. According to the company, the tools have the power and speed of an impact combined with the reach of a ratchet, with a head-height of less than 2”, 180 ft-lb of max torque, and 7,100rpm of speed.

The low head-height combined with the torque allows for the capabilities of an impact in the smaller footprint of a ratchet. A conveniently-located forward/reverse collar provides unrestricted access to easily change the direction of the tool in tight spaces, where traditional tools frequently get jammed. In addition, the reactionless torque eliminates kickback, and protects the technician's hand while working in confined spaces. The Hammerhead will be available in 3/8” and 1/2” drives.
