Blue Origin is expanding its footprint in the Lone Star State with a new state-of-the-art manufacturing campus in Hutto, Texas. The 1.3‑million‑square‑foot multi-facility complex, dubbed Constellation Park, will serve as a central production hub for several of the company’s satellite and communications programs.

Governor Greg Abbott announced the new advanceced manufacutiing and operations campus this morning, including Blue Origin's expected $554.8 million capital investment.

The company, owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who founded the company in 2000, has operated in Texas since Launch Site One opened in 2006 and has more than 550 current employees in the state. The new campus is expected to add more than 2,000 new manufacturing and related jobs over the next 10 years.

The facility will support manufacturing for TeraWave, Blue Origin’s satellite communications network designed to serve enterprise, data center and government users and compete with SpaceX's more established Starlink network.

The facility will also expand production for Quartz, a global ground communications network featuring 3.7‑meter aperture antennas that enable S‑band and X‑band connectivity for low Earth orbit missions.

In addition, the plant will manufacture Blue Origin subsystems, including solar arrays, avionics, telecommunications and other satellite hardware. The aerospace company manufactures and operates rocket engines, reusable launch vehicles, lunar landers and satellite systems.

“Blue Origin’s decision to invest more than half a billion dollars in Hutto and create more than 2,000 new great-paying jobs is a tremendous win for Williamson County,” said Representative Caroline Harris Davila. “This project will also create new opportunities for Williamson County businesses, contractors and suppliers."

A Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant of $18.2 million and a Veteran Created Job Bonus of $10,000 have been extended to Blue Origin. TEF is a performance-based grant that can be awarded to a business relocation or expansion project when a Texas site competes with out-of-state locations.

Hutto is about 120 miles west of Grimes County, home to SpaceX’s highly anticipated Terafab, a $16.8 billion semiconductor fabrication plant.
