Geotab, a provider of connected vehicle and asset management solutions, established a new facility in Madison Heights, Michigan, to support automotive reverse engineering, embedded systems development and advanced software development. The Ontario-based firm expects the $1.8 million project to create at least 26 jobs.
The company designs, manufactures and deploys telematics hardware and cloud-based software, processing billions of customer data points daily from millions of globally connected vehicles.
The Madison Heights facility consists of approximately 8,000 to 10,000 square feet of office space and an additional 2,000 to 4,000 square feet dedicated to an automotive laboratory and garage environment.
“I’m excited about Geotab’s work to electrify fleets so that we can move to a more sustainable future, and grateful for the good-paying jobs the company is creating in Madison Heights,” State Sen. Stephanie Chang (D-Detroit) said.
The Michigan Business Development Program supported the investment with a $130,000 performance-based grant.
With a U.S. headquarters in Atlanta, Geotab operates multiple offices in the U.S., including in Denver, Las Vegas and Washington D.C. The company serves customers across North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa.
