
Covenant, a Washington D.C.-based defense company building precision strike weapons, today introduced Anthem, a heavy-payload, long-range weapon system designed for production in the thousands.
Anthem’s U.S. production will take place in a new 105,000-square-foot facility in Dallas, Texas. It opens today and will begin serial production in the first quarter of 2027, ramping toward 5,000 units per year. Covenant said it has a similar 110,000-square-foot facility in Saxony, Germany, and a 32,000-square-foot facility in Northern Israel.
Covenant, which just secured more than $250 million in funding from multiple investors, said Anthem delivers payload and range at a fraction of the cost of comparable, legacy systems. It is transported, stored, launched and reloaded in ways that demand minimal strain and spend from the end customer, the company said, adding that it's built its own mission planning and command-and-control software, allowing for coordinated mass launch.
Most of Anthem’s parts are commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS), and the company has secured long-term, strategic agreements for other key components. Anthem’s production draws from local supply chains across allied nations, ensuring its capabilities are available to customers in wartime.
Since Covenant’s maiden flight in August 2025, the team has flown Anthem more than 200 times, including multiple flight tests with the U.S. Army both at home and abroad. Flight tests have enabled Covenant to stress-test every element of Anthem’s design.
Covenant said it has booked approximately $150 million in orders to date, including qualification, R&D, and multiple production contracts, with additional awards expected before year-end. Certain customers restrict public disclosure of their contracting activity. Covenant is under Other Transaction Agreement with the U.S. Army for an accelerated test and qualification program. The company is also under contract with the U.S. Navy's Rapid Capabilities Office (DONRCO) to adapt the ground-launched Anthem into a "Maritime Anthem" variant. This work is valued at roughly $70M with a cost-share component and funds Defense Exportability Features design modifications to accelerate export to our allies and partners.
