Spirits giant Diageo this week officially opened its new production and distribution hub in Alabama.
Company officials said Tuesday that Diageo Montgomery would bolster the “resiliency and agility” of its North American supply chain, as well as bring its products closer to customers in the southern U.S.
Diageo said that it invested about $415 million in the 360,000-square-foot complex, which will have a “multi-million case” annual production capacity. The facility will employ about 100 people.
“The opening of Diageo Montgomery marks an important step forward in building the agile, future‑ready supply network that our business demands,” Diageo North America Supply President Marsha McIntosh said in a statement. “By placing this facility at the heart of the southern region, we’re not only strengthening our connection to customers, but also setting a new standard for efficient, sustainable manufacturing.”
Diageo, based in London, owns a wide range of alcohol brands, including Captain Morgan, Johnnie Walker and Guinness.
