Firehawk Aerospace
In December, Firehawk Aerospace announced plans to establish manufacturing operations in Crawford, Mississippi. New details have emerged, including Firehawk's $16.5 million investment and expectation to create some 100 jobs.
Firehawk is an end-to-end energetics company that makes munitions, rockets and motors powered by its proprietary 3D-printed propellant, which enables faster, safer and more cost-efficient production, according to the company.
The DCMA-rated facility in Crawford, which sits on 636 acres, will support expanded manufacturing capacity and serve as its rocket system integration site.
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program. Lowndes County is also assisting with the project.
Firehawk expects to begin operations in the near future and is actively recruiting for a range of roles to support its manufacturing operations.
The company is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and is also building a 340-acre propellant and motor production facility in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Firehawk conducts static fire and flight testing at two West Texas sites, including a 30-square-mile launch range.
