Rockwell Automation in November announced plans for a 1 million-square-foot manufacturing facility, which could end up being its largest anywhere. Now, the company has officially picked the Wisconsin city that will serve as the site.
During the company's first-quarter earnings call, CEO Blake Moret said the facility will be built in New Berlin.
"Additionally, as we have completed the purchase of our Mequon, Wisconsin, facility, which we previously leased," Moret said. "These two projects are aligned with our announced investments in our plants, talent and digital infrastructure and underscore our commitment to and confidence in the U.S. market."
The new facility will include manufacturing and warehouse space, and will be equipped with advanced automation, robotics and digital systems.
“It will integrate the latest in Rockwell’s production technologies, including AI and analytics tools, to increase efficiency and precision, while providing team members with access to advanced tools and training. I’m excited to see our highly skilled workforce maximize the potential of this site,” said Bob Buttermore, chief supply chain officer at Rockwell Automation, in a statement. “This investment reflects our confidence in our teams that deliver excellence every day.”
