A Utah-based Coca-Cola bottler plans to replace its decades-old plant in Denver with a new production facility in Colorado Springs, local economic development officials announced.

Swire Coca-Cola USA plans to spend $475 million on the new 620,000-square-foot plant, which will make over 230 “beverage options” for more than 60 brands, including water, tea, juice and sports drinks in addition to soft drinks.

Swire distributes Coca-Cola and other brands across 13 western states and employs 1,300 people in Colorado. The company said that the new facility would add 170 net jobs to its workforce.

The company plans to break ground on the Colorado Springs plant next year.

“Colorado Springs has been a great partner for our existing distribution facility where we employ 170 people,” Bryan Sink, the senior vice president, supply chain at Swire Coca-Cola USA, said in a statement. “The city offers a highly skilled workforce and a strong sense of community — all of which make it an ideal location for this strategic investment.”
