The BANTAM Mini Compression Springs from Lee Spring (Brooklyn, NY) are a response to the need for miniature stock springs that combine strength and corrosion resistance. The springs start at a wire diameter of 0.004”, slightly thicker than a human hair, and range up to 0.0055. Lee Spring has selected Elgiloy as the alloy for the BANTAM springs. Elgiloy is a cobalt-nickel alloy known for its high strength and resistance in most corrosive environments, including acetic acid, ammonium chloride, citric acid, and sodium chloride. The alloy performs well in temperatures up to 850°F.
