An Epoxy That Handles Anything

IMSEAL-800 is a high-strength epoxy resin that seals visible porosity in castings and other metal parts. The multi-purpose sealant from IMPCO, Inc. (East Providence, RI) is drawn beneath the surface, penetrating and filling the crack by creating a pressure-tight seal. Once cured, the resin can be drilled, tapped, or machined.

(East Providence, RI) is drawn beneath the surface, penetrating and filling the crack by creating a pressure-tight seal. Once cured, the resin can be drilled, tapped, or machined. IMSEAL-800 comes in a packet that contains precise proportions of resin and activator, which are separated by a clip, and has a pot life of 45 minutes. The epoxy cures at room temperature, or faster when heated, and once finished, the sealant has a tensile strength of more than 9,000 psi, a compressive strength of 35,000 psi, a compressive yield of 16,500 psi, and a Rockwell hardness of 97.
