For applications where flexible, high-performance bonds are required, Master Bond (Hackensack, NJ) has developed its Polymer System EP37-3FLF, which is suitable for castings with wider cross-section thicknesses. According to the company, the polymer is serviceable over the wide range of 4K to 250°F, and it cures at room temperature in two to three days, or faster at elevated temperatures. The viscosity is low, at 1,400 to 1,500 cps, and uses a non-critical one-to-one mix ratio by weight or volume. The bond shear strength exceeds 2,000 psi, and the bond has an elongation of 180 percent.
