Hitachi America, Ltd. (Tarrytown, NY) has announced the SJ700-2200HFU2 model inverter, with a 440 A output current capability. The SJ700 can develop more than 200 percent starting torque at 0.3 Hz and 150 percent torque near 0 Hz. Another feature is the SJ700 is Hitachi’s EzSQ (Easy Sequence) built-in programming function—in many cases the need for a separate PLC can be eliminated. When mated with a general-purpose induction motor and encoder, the SJ700 can deliver true servo-like position control. Other new features include micro-surge voltage suppression, advance trip avoidance functions, and configurable sink/source logic on I/O.
