Advanced Torque Products (Berlin, CT) has introduced its compact, high capacity, ATP 40000 mechanical torque multiplier. This digitally-controlled wrench produces up to 40,000 foot-pounds and is accurate to ±1 percent, even in extreme temperatures. It is ideal for automatic motor drives, MRO applications, and a variety of high torque applications. The ATP 40000 employs all-mechanical operation, eliminating the need for heavy pumps, unwieldy tubes, and time-consuming bleed-off. Mechanical gears rotate on needle roller bearings with hardened and ground journal pins. An anti-rotation device holds torque without backing off. A smartchip and electronic bridge circuit in the wrench’s outer casing provide traceability and permit any control box to be used with the calibrated hub.
