AMSTERDAM and REDMOND, Wash. — Stellantis and Microsoft today announced a five‑year strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating the automaker's digital transformation through the co‑development of advanced AI, cybersecurity and engineering capabilities.
The collaboration will bring together Stellantis' automotive engineering, multibrand scale and global operations with Microsoft's cloud, AI and security capabilities to accelerate stronger, more agile, more connected digital processes across its ecosystem.
Stellantis and Microsoft are co‑developing more than 100 AI initiatives across customer care, product development and operations, including:
- AI‑powered product development and validation.
- Predictive maintenance and testing.
- Faster deployment of new digital features and services.
For example, Peugeot drivers may receive intelligent recommendations for more energy‑efficient driving in urban environments, along with proactive vehicle-health insights and feature updates designed to improve everyday usability.
Stronger cybersecurity across vehicles and operations
Stellantis will deploy and operate an AI‑driven global cyberdefense center spanning its IT systems, connected vehicles, manufacturing sites and digital products. The approach enables Stellantis to:
- Anticipate and detect cyberthreats faster with AI‑driven analytics.
- Ensure consistent protection of connected services and customer data.
- Strengthen resilience and response capabilities across global operations.
With this end‑to‑end approach, cybersecurity will be further embedded into every digital vehicle experience, safeguarding interactions across mobile apps and in‑vehicle services. For example, Jeep drivers will have reliable connectivity and protected data access even in remote terrain.
To deliver faster, more reliable digital experiences worldwide, Stellantis is modernizing its infrastructure with Microsoft Azure, aiming to reduce its datacenter footprint by 60% by 2029.
As part of the collaboration, Stellantis is equipping its global workforce with enterprise-grade AI tools to enhance productivity and collaboration. All employees currently have access to Copilot Chat, with an initial rollout of 20,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses supporting select roles.
Deployment is supported by a Stellantis-dedicated training program that helps teams apply AI capabilities effectively in their daily work and deliver stronger outcomes for customers.
