The U.S. government awarded Lockheed Martin a multibillion-dollar contract to continue accelerated production of PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE).
The company said the $4.7 billion undefinitized contract action (UCA) will allow it to deliver record numbers of interceptors for American and allied forces this year.
The contract follows the framework agreement signed with the Pentagon on Jan. 6 to ramp up PAC-3 MSE production as part of the administration's Acquisition Transformation Strategy.
The contract comes after Lockheed Martin recently broke ground on the Munitions Acceleration Center, a future workforce training facility, and announced the opening of the Rapid Fielding Center to streamline the end-to-end development, testing and prototype production of next-generation systems and solutions for U.S. government customers.
