Motorola Solutions, Huawei Settle Litigation

Chinese telecommunications equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co. and Motorola Solutions Inc. have agreed to settle all pending litigation between the two companies.

CHICAGO (AP) -- Motorola Solutions Inc. and Chinese telecommunications equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co. said Wednesday they have agreed to settle all pending litigation between the two companies.

They did not disclose financial terms, but said the companies agreed to dismiss cases pending in U.S. District Court in Chicago "with prejudice," which means they can't be filed again.

Motorola Solutions is one of the two companies born from the January split of Motorola. Its products, such as, police radios and barcode scanners, target government agencies and large businesses.

Huawei said it has agreed to withdraw its lawsuit against Motorola Solutions and Nokia Siemens Networks. It said it resolved its claims by agreeing to let Motorola transfer its contracts with Huawei to Nokia Siemens for a fee. The deal allows Nokia Siemens to use confidential Huawei information to service the networks that Motorola deployed worldwide using Huawei's technologies, the companies said.

For a decade beginning in 2000, Motorola resold Huawei products under the Motorola brand.

Motorola Solutions shares rose 23 cents to $44.08 in morning trading.
