First Boeing 787 Made In SC Being Set For Delivery

The 787 deliveries were double the number Boeing delivered in the second quarter. It's building the planes both in Everett, Wash., and at a new line in North Charleston, S.C.
Boeing, GE Cement Order For 85 737s Worth $6B

The planes are worth $6 billion at list prices, although discounts for major customers are common. The order includes 75 737 MAX 8s and 10 Next-Generation 737-800s.
Nissan Offers Leaf Discounts To Spur Sales

Nissan Motor Co. sold only 4,228 Leafs this year through August, almost a third fewer than a year ago. It also has a big inventory of the cars nationwide. At the end of August it had enough 2012 models in stock to supply dealers for 114 days, according to Ward's AutoInfoBank.
Maker Of Japan's Bullet Train Chosen For U.S. Cars

Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, and California are teaming up to buy the 130 bi-level cars for $352 million from a joint venture by Nippon-Sharyo and Sumitomo Corp. of America.

Some buy American because, to them, seeing the “Made in America” label means that they’re getting a superior product. Others, because they’ve heard the statistics outlining the importance of a strong manufacturing base in the U.S. Whatever the reason, I don’t think it can ever hurt to support an economy that makes such a difference.
