Baldor Electric (Fort Smith, AR) has developed their Ethernet-compatible PowerLink servo drives, which have been used in a variety of applications, such as a conformal coating machine with three-dimensional spraying accuracy at Advanced Coating Robotics (ACR). The drives, equipped with Baldor’s motion control software, offer real-time interpolated control via a simple plug-together system building approach.
The Load Seeking Clamp 4.0, available on the SL automatic stretch wrapper from Lantech (Louisville, KY), was designed to reduce film breaks. At the beginning of the wrap cycle, the Load Seeking Clamp 4.0 goes to the edge of the load, creating clamp-to-load contact regardless of the width of the load.
Keller Products, Inc. (Lexington, MA) has developed the TKO-10-DP pump/skimmer specifically for dye penetrant applications, which are used to detect cracks, seams, or porosity in the surfaces of the parts. The system pulls the penetrant from the surface of the tank through a floating inlet valve using an air-operated pump, separates the penetrant from the rinse water with a permanent separator element, and returns water to the rinse tank at a high flow rate.
The Beyond platform of high-performance tool grades from Kennametal (Latrobe, PA) is now available in inserts for the company’s FixPerfect system, which promises improved toughness and wear-resistance, resulting in higher turning productivity and safety. The FixPerfect system features a proprietary shaped pocket for high clamping forces, very low cutting forces, chip control, and an improved process stability.
The P-Series, PA-PD Series, D Series, and PL Series Electric Actuators from ProMation (Brooksville, FL) are designed for rugged, industrial use. They are available in a variety of models, such as quarter-turn reversing, quarter-turn reversing spring return, and linear drive models to provide on/off, jog, or proportional control.
MISUMI USA, Inc. (Schaumburg, IL) has announced new products in its timing pulleys, belts, and keyless bushings categories. The components can be used by machine builders in the design and assembly of rugged factory automation and motion control machinery. The GT Timing Pulleys and Belts include four types of rugged, round tooth profiles, built to deliver exceptionally durable performance in high-accuracy positioning applications, with minimal backlash.
Videojet Technologies Inc. (Wood Dale, IL) allows companies to print large, variable data codes on both porous or nonporous substrates with the new Videojet 2120. The system can apply characters on everything from cardboard and paper, to plastic and foil. Multiple printhead and ink options provide the flexibility to configure the industrial ink jet printer for different products.
LA-MAN Corporation (Mazeppa, MN) is now offering the AMD-035 SuperStar Membrane Dryer that provides clean and dry compressed air. The membrane dryer can be used where refrigerated dryers may be too large. The AMD-035 lowers the dew point by continuously removing water vapor and venting into the surrounding atmosphere.
Northfield Presicison Instrument Corporation (Island Park, NY) has introduced the Model 450 Air Chuck, which installs on the bed of the customer’s machine. The pick-and-place arm picks up the parts after they are finished in the front chucks and transfers them to the rear chucks for finishing.
The modular Material Master Bulk Bag Discharging System — from Material Transfer (Allegan, MI) — offers a Sure-Seal pneumatic discharge spout clamping system to ensure a dust-tight operation. In addition, the Flo-Master bag massaging system delivers product to high-deflection vibratory feeder.
Baumer (Southington, CT) has introduced its new HS35 family of incremental hollow shaft encoders — including a fully-programmable version — for heavy-duty positioning and speed control applications.
