Toshiba Machine’s (Elk Grove Village, IL) line of low-cost and lightweight SCARA Robots, the THL Series, is ideal for system integrators looking to for automation, says the company. The THL Series is configured with a lightweight die cast aluminum arm and is 50 percent lighter than existing Toshiba Machine models. The THL Series requires minimal supporting and vibration-suppression elements and consumes up to 50 percent less power than conventional robots. THL Series SCARA Robots include the THL500, THL600, and THL700 with arm lengths of 500, 600, and 700 millimeters, respectively. All THL Robots feature a working envelope of 4 axes, with a Z-axis rotation of 360 degrees. Maximum speeds range from 6.3 to 7.9 meters per second.
