The latest photoelectric sensors from Balluff (Florence, KY) are designed to detect issues such as skew, material shifts, object alignment, and web material drag—all issues that force production levels to be less than optimal. The EdgeMaster comes in four types, the first of which is the BAV MA series, with a fixed dual-optical axis edge detection system. The BGL C is a photo array sensor that gives a proportional analog output based on the amount of light blocked. The BOL 27 sensor projects a 150mm line of light over an edge to provide discrete output for accurate position feedback. And the BGL 21 is ideal for label detection in high-speed applications, according to the company.
