Kübler by TURCK (Minneapolis, MN) has expanded its draw wire series, designed to work with sensors and encoders with analog outputs, with versions that measure distances ranging from 0.2 to 40 meters. Compatible outputs include 0 to 10 volt, 4 to 20mA, and potentiometers, as well as incremental (push-pull and RS422), absolute (SSI and BISS), and fieldbus interfaces.
Gassonic (Redlands, CA) has developed the first gas leak simulation tool for ultrasonic gas detection, which helps demonstrate the major advantages of implementing ultrasonic detectors for high-pressure gas leaks. The system responds to the distinctive ultrasound created by the leak without having to wait for gas to accumulate (conventional point detector) or within a narrow beam (open path gas detector).
GoatThroat Pumps (New York, NY) announces their SCP-6500 pump, which allows containers holding flammable liquids to be grounded, which makes them safe for use with Class 1 and 2 flammables. All components of the new pump which come in contact with the fluid are created with conductive plastic so that the system remains grounded.
The pop-up transfer conveyors from TKF (Cincinnati, OH) are light-duty units designed to handle loads up to 250 pounds with motorized roller-driven strands, eliminating noisy chain drives. The conveyors also do not use vertical guides or cam ramps for positioning, which simplifies maintenance.
Sullair Corporation (Michigan City, IN) announces the redesign of their 200 HP compressors offered with a choice of constant speed drive models (the LS-200S) or constant speed drive with variable capacity control (the VCC-200S and VCC-250S). The VCC models use Sullair’s spiral valve technology, which allows the compressor to match pressure and capacity with system demand, lowering energy usage.
Pinpoint Laser Systems (Peabody, MA) introduces a new right 90-Line Square Plane, ideal for squaring machinery and equipment, setting up presses, checking machine tools, aligning guide rails, among other uses. The 90-Line Square Plane is designed to be placed in the path of a laser reference beam to form a precise right angle for checking alignment.
Detcon (The Woodlands, TX) has released the Model RXT-300 wireless mesh-network transceiver, designed to transmit signal data in a wide range of industrial applications. The transceiver operates at 2.4GHz, and processing power is shared, allowing each transceiver to act as both a router and repeater.
The OCAL-BLUE Form 8 PVC-coated cast-iron conduit body from Thomas & Betts (Memphis, TN) now carries the UL Type 4X and NEMA Type 4X ratings on sizes up to two inches. These ratings assure conduit protection and corrosion-resistant performance in wash-down areas and outdoor environments.
MAG (Sterling Heights, MI) has redesigned its modular HMC 1250 Series machining tool with a new 180,000 position A-axis tilt spindle for 5-axis horizontal machining on large parts. The new 6,000 rpm/ 46 kW tilt spindle is engineered for machining large equipment parts for aerospace, pump, or valve applications.
Eriez (Erie, PA) is introducing the PolyMag Process, which provides multi-material plastic processors with material savings by creating a material that incorporates separation characteristics into the design. By introducing less than one percent of the PolyMag Additive, the leftover scrap resin from co-injection, two-shot injection, or overmolding processes can be separated with high-intensity magnets.
BinMaster (Lincoln, NE) announces the SmartBob-SS sensor, which is designed to measure solids submersed under water. The sensor is a solution for brine interface applications, such as measuring the level of settled salt under water. The SmartBob-SS drops a weighted bob through the liquid, and when the bob comes in contact with solid settled material, it retracts and sends a measurement to a PC loaded with eBob software.
Mettler Toledo (Columbus, OH) introduces the BBA449 counting scale that allows molding machine operators to more effectively supervise their machines. The colorWeight display alerts operators if boxes are full with a visible display—useful for operators responsible for multiple machines.
The SuperStar .01 Micro Filters from LA-MAN Corporation (Port Orange, FL) are designed to be installed at the point of use to remove moisture and contaminants from air lines to improve the life cycle of tools and equipment. The four-stage design operates most efficienty within 25 feet of the point of use, and has a flow range of 50, 75, or 100 SCFM with pressure ratings of 250 psi.
Thomson (Wood Dale, IL) introduces the RW64-V RoundWay Linear Roller Bearing, a 4” version with a dynamic load capacity of 70,000 lbf (310,800 N), more than 20 times the load capacity of a conventional linear ball bearing. The RoundWay can carry that load even at operating temperatures up to 500°F and speeds up to 100 ft/s (68mph).
AutomationDirect’s (Cumming, GA) line of C-more operator interfaces now includes two new 6” TFT color panels with LED backlights. Both panels are NEMA 4/4Z, IP65 compliant when mounted correctly for indoor use. Individual features of the two models include: EA7-T6CL-R: 320x240 resolution QVGA display supporting 65,536 colors.
The new MARTIN Carryback Capture System from Martin Engineering (Neponset, IL) is a scavenger conveyor system that transfers belt cleaning residue back into the material stream, avoiding cleanup labor and injuries. The design helps prevent material accumulation that can impede conveyor components and increase system downtime.
PARTsolutions (Milford, OH) has expanded its partnership with Hamilton Caster to supply and embed its 3D cataloguing software directly to the Hamilton website. When Hamilton wanted to make CAD a more integral part of its customers’ product selection, PARTsolutions offered their software, which can help automate the process of creating, migrating, and translating 3D content.
Brady Worldwide, Inc. (Milwaukee, WI) is releasing its new 5S Marking Supplies, designed to help lean manufacturers organize their workplace, control space usage, and manage inventory.
