Bearings For High-Temperatures

Thu, 04/14/2011 - 6:30am

Graphite Metallizing Corporation (Yonkers, NY) is announcing a family of tin-based babbit GRAPHALLOY materials for high-temperature bearing applications. The materials are available in NSF-certified grades for drinking water, and are FDA-accepted. They are environmentally-safe through the elimination of the need for grease or oil. By not using liquid lubricants, contamination and maintenance can also be reduced. Other features include:

  • The ability to replace plastics because the GRAPHALLOY materials offer better head dissipation and will not melt.
  • The capability to work in low-temperature applications (-400°F) by eliminating the issues cause by the viscosity of grease.
  • A self-lubricating construction that can survive in environments up to 1,000°F.
