The Beyond platform of high-performance tool grades for holemaking applications from Kennametal (Latrobe, PA) is now available in three new grades: KCPK10, KCU25, and KCU40. The whole series covers SPPX/SPGX Drill Fix Square outboard inserts, available in HP, FP, and MD geometries. Kennametal’s indexable drill platform can be used in virtually any short-hole applications with CNC lathes or machining centers. According to the company, the KCPK10 grade offers outstanding abrasion and crater-wear resistance for high-speed machining of steels and cast irons. In contrast, the KCU25 offers a 30 percent extended tool life, delivering reliability with steel, stainless steel, and cast irons. Finally, the KCU40 grade withstands interruptions and provides the high-wear resistance for long tool life.
