Balluff (Florence, KY) introduces the Micropulse ProCompact linear position transducer, which is designed to be rugged, accurate, and protected against environmental hazards. The Micropulse utilizes non-contact magnetostrictive technology in a welded, hermetically-sealed stainless steel housing, which provides long-term reliability and service life. According to the company, this design allows for a longer lifespan than contact-based sensors such as linear or rotary potentiometers. The Micropulse ProCompact comes with standard ¾”-16 UNF mounting threads, allowing the sensor to be installed into hydraulic cylinders, and is protected to IP68.
