Nissan To Manufacture Sentra In MS Plant

CANTON, Miss. (AP) — Nissan says it will start manufacturing its Sentra in its Mississippi plant this December.

Company officials announced the plan Thursday, saying it will create another 1,000 jobs at the plant in Canton, north of Jackson.

The plant opened in 2003 and currently has about 3,900 workers.

Sentra will be the seventh vehicle Nissan will manufacture in Canton.

Nissan is the No. 6 automaker in the United States, with an 8.1 percent share of the market so far in 2012.
