Hostess To Open Bakeries In Indiana, Illinois

The predecessor to Hostess Brands filed for bankruptcy protection in 2012 after years of turmoil and later decided to go out of business after a nationwide strike crippled its operations.
Collapsed Building Owner May Face 7 Years In Jail

The two compounds were stored at a Texas fertilizer plant where a deadly explosion occurred April 17.
Honda Recalls Nearly 46,000 Fit Sports

The recall affects cars from the 2012 and 2013 model years. Honda says the stability control system can let the car tilt too far before it applies the brakes to prevent a crash.

Boeing: New Battery System Ensures 787 Safety

Chrysler Profit Falls 65 Percent On Lower Shipments

The Auburn Hills, Michigan, company said Monday that it earned $166 million in the January-March quarter, compared with $473 million a year ago. Revenue fell 6 percent to $15.4 billion.
Nissan Recalls 2013 Altima For Spare Tire Defect

Altimas from the 2013 model year that were made between March 21 and March 26 are affected. Tires that are significantly over- or underinflated can increase the risk of a crash. Nissan says it has no reports of accidents or injuries related to the defect, which was discovered by a dealer.
Lawsuits From Fertilizer Plant Blast Now Total 6

Fourteen people died and more than 200 were injured by the April 17 blast in the small Central Texas town of West. Dozens of buildings were destroyed or severely damaged.
MS Lawmakers Pass Incentives For Tire Maker

Mississippi lawmakers quickly passed the bill intended for Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. in a Friday special session, with House members supporting it 117-2 and Senate members supporting it unanimously. The entire session took less than four hours.
GM Wants Tough Punishment In Hybrid Secrets Theft

Chrysler To Invest $20M In Toledo Machining Plant

Welder Apparently Electrocuted At AZ Plant

Authorities say the man was badly burned and fell 20 feet to the ground after he somehow touched live wires around 11:20 a.m. Thursday.
Caterpillar Laying Off About 60 At IL Plant

The Journal Star in Peoria reports that Caterpillar said Thursday that it will lay off workers at a foundry in Mapleton starting in early May. The town is just south of Peoria, where Caterpillar is based.
Tests Detail Pollutants At Former Ford-Owned Site
