SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — ATK Aerospace Systems is opening a new facility to build commercial airframes and engines in Utah. The site is projected to create 800 jobs over the next 20 years in Davis County. ATK spokesman George Torres says the more than 600,000 square-foot facility in Clearfield will produce aircraft composite structures and already has more than $1 billion in contracts to fulfill.
MILAN (AP) — Fiat SpA, which controls Chrysler, has confirmed plans to invest euro500 million ($720 million) to build Maseratis in a plant near Turin. Fiat confirmed the investment in the plant, which formerly made Bertone cars, in a statement Friday after receiving guarantees that the government will pass a law favoring investments that are backed by unions.
DETROIT (AP) — Workers at a Ford Motor Co. plant near Kansas City, Mo., are authorizing their union leaders to call a strike against the company. Local union President Jeff Wright said in an e-mail Monday that 3,049 workers voted to authorize a strike. Only 18 voted against it. The workers finished voting Saturday.

(AP) — Restaurant owner Gary Honeycutt says a push in California's state Legislature to ban the plastic foam containers he uses to serve up takeout meals could cost him thousands of dollars in an industry where profit margins already are razor thin.
