Nippon Thermostat To Expand WV Facility

FRAZIERS BOTTOM, W.Va. (AP) — Nippon Thermostat of America is planning to expand its Putnam County facility, creating 30 jobs.

West Virginia Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin says the company is expected to invest $4 million in the expansion that will more than double the current workforce at the plant.

Tomblin joined company executives, local economic development officials and others at groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

Nippon Thermostat of America supplies engine thermostats for automotive manufacturers including Honda and Toyota. The West Virginia facility was built in 2004 and was the company's first plant in the United States.
