OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A Nebraska company is planning to spend $10 million expanding its manufacturing plant in Omaha and hire about 30 more workers.

Intersystems, which makes equipment for grain elevators, processing plants and port facilities, announced its plans on Tuesday. Its products help sort grains, powders, rock and wood chips.

The company says global demand for its products is strong enough to warrant the expansion.

Intersystems President Tom Schroeder says the expansion, which should be done in January, will increase the company's capacity.

The company employs about 200 people now. The workforce is expected to grow next year after the expansion.

Intersystems' 140,000-square-foot facility will grow to about 200,000-square feet.
