Toyota: Sales Rose 1 Percent In April
DETROIT (AP) — Toyota Motor Corp. says its U.S. sales rose 1 percent in April, a weak showing in an otherwise strong month for the industry.
Overall U.S. sales are expected to increase 19 percent from last April.
Sales of Toyota's popular Prius hybrid were flat. The Camry sedan edged up 9 percent. Toyota's car sales fell 3 percent while its trucks sales rose 7 percent.
Toyota's decision to offer fewer deals might have impacted sales. Edmunds.com estimates Toyota lowered incentive spending by $300 per vehicle in April to an industry-wide low of $1,687.
