Explosion-Proof Motor For Hazardous Waste Compactor

KenBay has added a hazardous waste & explosion-proof model to its line of rotary arm compactors. According to the company, this RotoPac has the same small footprint and high 6-to-1 compaction ratio as its other models, but is now fitted with NEMA 4 boxes for electrical control components and hydraulic valves.

Exelon and SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWRA) (Nasdaq: SPWRB) today announced an agreement to develop the nation's largest urban solar power plant at a former industrial site on Chicago's South Side. The 10-megawatt solar photovoltaic (PV) facility is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

French workers release 4 managers in factory

Hostage-taking has re-emerged as a popular negotiating tactic among frustrated French workers.  French workers on Wednesday released four managers they had held captive overnight at a British-run factory following a labor dispute over the plant's closure, officials said. The managers at the plant in the foothills of the French Alps, run by Britain's Scapa Group PLC, were allowed to leave the site to attend negotiations Wednesday at the local mayor's office.
