Conduits With Versatile Elbows

The Universal Conduit Elbow from Thomas & Betts functions as four elbows in one, resulting in the reduction of stock parts. The elbow replaces LL, LR, LB, and C conduit bodies for most applications. EagleBurgmann has developed DiamondFaces, a synthetically-manufactured, ultrapure diamond — with the same characteristic as a natural stone — for seal coating. A microcrystalline coating of 8-µm thickness on a silicon carbide seal face extends the life of the seal, reduces maintenance costs, according to the company.

Procter & Gamble To Use Sugarcane-Based Packaging

CINCINNATI (AP) — Consumer products makers Procter & Gamble Co. said Thursday that it will use a plastic derived from sugarcane in the packaging of some of its products. P&G said the material will be used for Pantene Pro-V, Covergirl, and Max Factor products. The plastic is made from a process that converts sugarcane into high-density polyethylene.

Man Dies In Hutchinson, Kan. Industrial Accident

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) — Hutchinson police say a 30-year-old man died when a part from a boiler fell on him. The man, whose name was not released, died Thursday night at Superior Boiler Works. Police Sgt. Eric Buller says the employee was working alone in area of the plant when the accident occurred.
